5 Reasons You Should Care More for Our Environment

In this article we are going to explore 5 reasons why you should care more for our environment. This doesn’t mean that you have to become some crazy activist, only be more conscious of the impact that you have on the environment for everyone’s sake.

In this article we are going to explore 5 reasons why you should care more for our environment. This doesn’t mean that you have to become some crazy activist, only be more conscious of the impact that you have on the environment for everyone’s sake.

1 – Essential for Healthy Living

Nobody wants to live in a dirty environment, where the air is overly-polluted, or the water is contaminated. It’s dirty, disgusting and terrible for our health! Air pollution is linked to diseases such as asthma, it’s bad for your heart and it’s no good for our natural eco-system either.

There are systems in place, who strive to have a positive impact on the environment, though it’s very much an uphill battle. Be conscious of our environment, your body will thank you for it in the long run!

2 – Think of the Children!

Many people take a very ‘not-fussed’ stance on our current environmental situation because, well, we’re only here for a little while and as long as nothing drastic happens in ‘my lifetime’ then who cares?

Well, your children, your children’s children and their children after that will certainly care and so should you. You have to ask yourself, what sort of a world do you want to leave for your children to inherit? Small sacrifices that we make now can be of huge benefit to them in the future.

3 – Biodiversity is the Key to Our Existence

Much of the impact that we’re having on the earth is detrimentally affecting many vital species of plant and animal life. Biodiversity refers to the balance of all living creatures on earth, in a nutshell, it’s the circle of life. Without biodiversity, there would be no ‘us’. We need plants to eat and breathe, animals to eat and make clothing, clean water for drinking, wood for shelter and so on.

With every species that falls off the face of the planet due to our negligence, there is an unnecessary chain of events which will invariably impact us all – but it’s not just that, just look at all the beauty in our world, we should care about preserving it for beauty’s sake if nothing else.

4 – It Feels Good

Being good feels good, just as treating others with respect and caring for the natural world around you. No decent human being wants to have a negative impact on anything or anyone, though often we do when we close inside ourselves and stop caring about what’s around us.

The way you view our environment is very much a reflection on your character. Again, you don’t have to become an activist, but you could make more of an effort to spread awareness and take better care, yourself.

5 – It’s Home

You wouldn’t like it if somebody walked into your home and started dumping their trash all over your floors, chopping away at your children’s bunk beds and filling the air with smoke and dirt – in fact, you’d probably be rather angry.

Well, it’s important to remember that Earth is our home, all of ours! We’re not neighbours we’re housemates – Let’s start acting like it.
